About Me

There is value in being truly known by another person. That's the foundation of my work.

My technique is active and engaged. I ask questions, share observations, and think along side my clients in sessions. My goal is to create an environment that nurtures safety and curiosity so that you can be open to explore new parts of yourself. In addition to this exploration, I help create a flexible framework in which we can focus on the needs that bring you into care.

My treatment approach is varied but primarily draws from the psychodynamic and relational theories. I find these styles best help understand not just the symptoms you want lessened, but the original wounds and conflicts that need more understanding of in order to feel more settled within yourself.

Psychodynamic therapy starts from the idea that what we feel and do in the present is shaped by experiences we've had in the past, often ones we've never fully examined. By bringing those connections to light, we give you more freedom to more authentically understand yourself and therefore live a life more attuned to you.

Relational therapy helps us examine how our sense of self has developed through our relationships. How we have been treated by others deeply impacts how we think about ourselves. If we have a history of our true feelings and experiences being minimalized or ignored it can greatly confuse our knowing of ourselves. From the relationship between the clinician and client a new experience of being attuned to and responded to is formed. Through this a greater understanding of self can be nurtured and embraced.
